Integral Creativity

Instructor: Michael Schwartz

This course unleashes integral creativity. The student first learns what creativity is and is not, discerns its three primary modalities, and learns various techniques to access intensified creative flow. Next there are engagements with various forms of art, creative expressions about which the students learns to engage in creative (while disciplined) response. Finally the student applies the prior techniques and lessons to his or her life, culminating in exercising their own life as a work of art, moving towards an integral aesthetics of existence.

Course Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course students should be able to:

  1. Understand what creativity is and is not.
  2. Enact modes of creative flow and creative output.
  3. Respond creatively to works of art.
  4. Create works of art.
  5. Explore one’s life as an artwork of creative expression.
